The script was actually well-written, and there were a few cameos too—Chevy Chase as the mysterious hot tub electrician, who seems to appear and disappear frequently, and Sebastian Stan (TV’s “Gossip Girl”) as a hotshot ski patrol teenager who seems to have it out for Corddry’s character. Lizzy Caplan (”Mean Girls”) also has a small part as one of Cusack’s love interests.

Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment’s paranormal suspense thriller “The Apparition.” Todd Lincoln makes his feature directorial debut on the film, which stars Ashley Greene of the “Twilight” series, Sebastian Stan from TV’s “Gossip Girl” and Tom Felton of the “Harry Potter” films.

When frightening events start to occur in their home, young couple Kelly (Ashley Greene) and Ben (Sebastian Stan) discover they are being haunt ed by a presence that was accidentally conjur ed during a university parapsychology experiment. The horrifying apparition fe ed s on their fear and torments them no matter where they try to run. Their last hope is an expert in the supernatural (Tom Felton), but even with his help they may already be too late to save themselves from this terrifying force…

Shooting is underway at historic Studio Babelsberg in Berlin , Germany , and will move to Los Angeles toward the end of production.
“The Apparition” is being produced under the Dark Castle banner by Joel Silver, Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman. The executive producers are Steve Richards, Sue Baden-Powell and Daniel Alter.

Lincoln, who wrote the screenplay along with Carl Ellsworth (“Red Eye,” “Disturbia”), is an award-winning short film/commercial/music video director whose work has screened at film festivals, art galleries and microcinemas around the world.

Lincoln is joined behind the scenes by director of photography Daniel Pearl (“Friday the 13th,” “AVPR: Alien vs. Predator – Requiem”), production designer Steve Saklad (“Up in the Air,” “Drag Me to Hell”), editor Tom Elkins (“The Haunting in Connecticut ”) and costume designer Kimberly Adams-Galligan (“The Chronicles of Narnia” films).
